Pension funds and life insurance companies are very concerned with their liabilities in respect of premiums collected for life policies and pensions. This concern is mainly due to their dependence on correct calculations of premiums and their corresponding dependence on life tables used. A recent government directive issued by the Central Insurance of Iran provides the necessary table and provides the required assurance for life insurance policies and pension funds. However, as we discuss in this paper, life tables that are estimated using national and local statistics provide more accurate estimates for parameters needed in the life table. Here in this paper, we estimate life expectancy using Iranian Oil Industry Pension Fund statistics and find there is a gap between nationally used estimates and those found here. The significance of these estimates is seen when variations in excess of five years are noted and the consequent appreciation of pensions in retirement. Thus, we place a greater emphasis on estimates found in this paper and hope to encourage greater use of accurate data and reliable life tables.

The main objective of this study is to examine auto insurance policies from a jurisprudential and legal perspective and investigate their conformity with religious and civil law and also differences between policyholders and insurance companies regarding the loss of car value. Through study of existing theories, this paper looks to define the nature, elements, and characteristics of auto insurance policies and investigate them in legal terms and find a balance between the legal and jurisprudential aspects. To date, no other comprehensive study has been conducted on the nature of auto insurance policies. This paper gives priority to investigating differences between policyholders and insurance companies and how they can be resolved and examining contradictions between regulations and general conditions set forth by the High Council of Insurance and insurance law. This descriptive and analytical study defines its hypotheses based on its objectives. After close investigation of the hypotheses and analysis of data, the paper concludes that auto insurance policies are consensual and are in accordance with legal and jurisprudential regulations and that damages regarding car value loss are payable. It is also determined that certain regulations have been set in non-accordance with articles of insurance law. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested that laws and regulations be amended with greater consideration by policymakers and legislators.

From an economic standpoint, financial fraud in the insurance industry is becoming an increasingly serious problem. Nowadays, data mining techniques are commonly used to develop detection models and fraud patterns. Data mining plays an important role in financial fraud detection, helping to uncover hidden facts from among very large quantities of data. Insurance companies can discover hidden patterns in the data and, with the use of well-designed models, make efforts to reduce fraud, manage risks and fulfill their commitments.
In this paper, current techniques for detecting auto insurance fraud (logistic regression, decision tree, Naive Bayes) are used. Data mining techniques are typically used to develop models that can spot patterns in fraudulent claims. The techniques introduced are applied to real data in order to also offer predictions.
Seven explanatory variables have been examined in the three models. These variables are: policy age, number of claims, delay, age, gender, police sketches, amount of loss. After obtaining the necessary permits, the data required was collected from one of Iran's largest insurance companies. The data was then divided into two sections, one to develop models and the other for classification. Research findings showed that the logistic regression model demonstrated greater accuracy compared to the other two models in predicting total claims (fraudulent and non-fraudulent).

In recent decades and in many countries, life insurance has not only become one of the most effective and accepted means of reducing risks related to issues such as loss of property and assets, workplace injury, disability, death and other unfortunate events, but has also been utilized as a way of establishing social justice and reducing poverty in society. The main objective of the present study is to assess the simultaneous effects of macroeconomic variables on the demand for life insurance, as well as the effect of this demand on social, educational, and physical welfare indices, through a case study of Parsian Insurance Company. For this purpose, the panel-simultaneous equations method was used on 30 Iranian provinces during the period running from 2008 to 2012. Results show that there is a significant inverse correlation between insurance rates and expected inflation rates and the demand for life insurance. These results also indicate that there is a considerable direct correlation between per capita income, education, and dependency burden and the demand for life insurance. A significant direct correlation was also witnessed between the demand for life insurance and physical and educational welfare levels, along with an expected indirect correlation between demand for life insurance and income inequality. These findings can play an important role in the decision-making process of insurance company managers.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of personal factors and role characteristics on the performance of sales personnel. Based on previous studies, customer orientation, degree of adaptability and customer lifetime value orientation are considered in this research as personal factors impacting the performance of salespeople in the insurance industry. The statistical population of this research is made up of the sales personnel of Pasargad Insurance Company's offices in Iran's Gilan province. Convenience sampling was used to select data samples. Considering the limited size of the population and using the Cochran sampling formula, a questionnaire was distributed among 88 individuals. Data analysis was then carried out with the help of the SPSS and SMART PLS softwares. Results show that customer lifetime value orientation, customer orientation, role characteristics and degree of adaptability had the strongest to weakest impact on the performance of the sales force of Pasargad Insurance offices. In addition, it is concluded that gender plays a moderating role in the relationship between customer lifetime value orientation and sales performance and in the relationship between customer orientation and sales performance.

Nowadays, various factors, including legal, environmental, and cultural issues, have led to lack of development in the insurance industry, especially with regard to fire and earthquake insurance in Iran, and difficulty in providing security in society. In addition, the numerous conditions and irregularities that are clearly evident in Tehran's comprehensive safety structure are such that it is feared that this metropolis would suffer heavy and irreparable financial and human losses in the event of natural or man-made disasters such as earthquakes or crisis-level fires, causing insurance companies to face huge challenges and problems. This study aims to identify and determine the internal challenges facing Iran's insurance industry, in particular Asia Insurance Company regarding the issue of fire insurance in the city of Tehran in critical conditions. The research was carried out through the study of related literature and the distribution of a well-defined questionnaire among experts of the insurance industry and experienced and well-educated employees of Asia Insurance Company. Statistics and collected data are then analyzed using the SPSS software. Results show that factors stemming from different fields, including economy, culture, planning and management, the social domain, politics and legislation, and human resources and technology, influence the creation of internal challenges and damages in the insurance industry. It is also determined that these challenges bear negative consequences for this industry, especially in the field of fire insurance in the city of Tehran, hence there are solutions proposed for these challenges in each identified field.

Assessing the performance of organizations has always been a challenge for researchers and therefore various methods and techniques have been introduced and used throughout the years for this purpose. One such technique is a fuzzy method based on a modified linguistic comparison ordering operator using the weighted geometric mean in interactive group decision-making. On the other hand, as a developing industry, the insurance industry has attracted the attention of many researchers and managers. Among the diverse range of topics related to this industry, the issue of assessing and evaluating the performance of different departments and branches has always been of great interest to experts in this field. This is due to the fact that this evaluation can help in taking effective steps toward improvement. The research population in this study were the employees of Sina and Karafarin Insurance in Iran's Yazd province. Analysis of the desired state and status quo of these companies concludes that there is a need for improvement, especially through improvements in the dimensions of growth and learning. However, comparison of the related criteria shows that, with regard to Karafarin and Sina Insurance Company respectively, it is the number of employees trained for management and the percentage of the annual number of insurance policies to the number of policies in the industry that require more urgent improvement. These results were also accepted by members of the group.
